Brighten up the winter days with a trip to Techniquest and enjoy a whole host of ‘light-bulb moments’ at the hands-on family attraction in Cardiff Bay — where science really does come to life!
Capital and Techniquest have teamed up to give FIVE lucky winners a VIP family ticket including complimentary tickets to a Live Science Show and a Star Tour or 360° film in the Planetarium too PLUS lunch and drinks at Coffee Mania on their first visit.
Brace yourselves against the force of a hurricane, feel the earth move under your feet on the earthquake simulator, take a ride on the ginormous silver slide or spark your curiosity with some electrical activity in the Low Light Zone.
Whether you want to create digital fireworks, steer an underwater ROV, dock a virtual spacecraft, or just have fun making up tunes with your feet on the giant piano, you’ll find something to keep curious minds engaged all winter long.
With over 100 interactive exhibits to enjoy that cater for the whole family — from toddlers through teenagers, to parents and grandparents, you’re guaranteed a trip to remember. There’s a brand new role play area for the under 7s, the Mini Metro Play Zone where little ones can let their imaginations run wild and play at being a train driver, a builder, a signaller or a café cook, and have fun with a miniature train set too.
As well as all of the excitement on the exhibition floor, you can chill out in the Science Theatre with the live science show Ice Ice Maybe: see science in action as you learn why polar bears can’t wear heels and why penguins love bubbles! Take a journey to the stars in the Planetarium or gaze at our world from space through incredible satellite images with the 360° film We Are Guardians: there’s plenty you can add to your entry tickets to make the most of your visit.
If you’re looking for an extra Christmas treat, there are two special Kids’ Christmas Parties on Saturday 7 & Saturday 14 December from 5.30pm, complete with the option to make it a VIP experience by adding a festive film to your ticket. And for adults, there’s an After Hours at Christmas night for over-18s, from 6.30pm on Thursday 12 December, thanks to support from Admiral: check out the website for more details as they’re added closer to the date!
