Smirnoff’s ‘EQUALISING MUSIC’ campaign is shining a light on the achievements of women in electronic music and aiming to improve gender parity within the genre by 2020.

The music industry as a whole under-represents female talent. Less than 9% of recognised producers are women; only three solo women have won The Mercury Prize award in its 22-year history; only 17% of electronic festival headliners in 2016 were women and only 17% of the Performing Rights Society are women.

Smirnoff’s Ambassador Programme

Smirnoff’s Equalising Music ambassadors; The Black Madonna, Nastia, Peggy Gou, Honey Dijon and Artwork are supporting the campaign for 2018 and looking for 10 of the UK’s best undiscovered female or female identifying DJ talent.

The carefully selected final 10 will be given the opportunity to be mentored by one of the five Ambassadors before going on to perform at either Snowbombing, Lost Village or at Printworks later this year.
